Seven thousand Internet users watched broadcast from Lednica!
Live broadcast on the Internet from this year’s National Youth Meeting in the fields of Lednica was organized by the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center.

Thanks to PSNC the meeting could be attended via the Internet by almost 7 thousand people. For twelve hours of continuous transmission more than 11.5 thousand requests for access to the site were recorded and 3.5 thousand GB of data were sent.

The transmission was quite a challenge for the PSNC, as a wireless link of a relatively large capacity, running smoothly despite the mobilization of a range of other wireless devices was required at the fields of Lednica. The Internet connection itelf was provided by Awakom. The experience and well developed infrastructure of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center resulted in the success of the project.

This year’s Youth Meeting was based on the notions of John Paul II directed to young people gathering in the fields of Lednica in 1997-2004. This year’s meeting was held in the 20th anniversary of the youth confirmation during the 6th World Youth Day in Czestochowa, and in the 14th anniversary of the arrival of the Holy Father in a helicopter at Lednica fields to carry young people into the third millennium through the Lednica gate.
