The Minister of Finance Visits PSNC

The Polish Minister of Finances Andrzej Domański paid a visit to the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center’s headquarters. His meeting with the PSNC management focused on scientific research activities of the Poznań Center, which are related to the Polish Presidency of the EU Council.

Since 1 January 2025, PSNC has been an official partner of the Polish European Union Presidency. The Center actively supports EU activities utilizing its competences concerning technology and communication. As a part of the European Commission’s program called AI Continent, Poznań is going to be the home of PIAST-AI Factory – the project lead by PSNC in cooperation with the Poznań University of Technology, the Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznań), and the Nicolaus Copernicus University (Toruń). The AI Factory in the Capital of Wielkopolska was definitely a pivotal topic during Minister Domański’s conversation with Urszula Grygier and Robert Pękal, both of whom manage the Poznań Center. It is worth mentioning that Mr Andrzej Domański is the head of the Ministry, which heavily supports the PIAST-AI project.

The visit ended with a tour of CBPIO (PSNC’s headquarters), during which the Minister was shown the Center’s most important laboratories, as well as the PROXIMA supercomputer and ORCA quantum machine.
