TNC22: „Navigating the unexplored”

After a two-year break due to a pandemic, Europe’s largest research and education networking conference returns in its traditional, stationary format. TNC 2022 will be hosted in the Italian city of Trieste. Traditionally, the conference is accompanied by an exhibition, during which PSNC and the PIONIER Consortium will present current projects and initiatives.

Each edition of The Networking Conference gathers over half a thousand participants, specialists and managers of the main scientific networks in Europe, as well as research organizations, universities and industry representatives. In addition to lectures by outstanding specialists, numerous discussions, sessions and presentations will be held. TNC provides an overview of the latest developments in the area of research networks, both in the technical field and in terms of network applications and management. The conference is an opportunity to meet all those who work together on joint research projects. It is also the time of plans and summaries, confrontation of results and presentation of achievements within the scientific national networks.

PSNC as the main technological partner of the conference provides a full technical and multimedia support. The most important events will be accompanied by cameras, and the main sessions will be broadcasted online.

During this year’s edition, PSNC and PIONIER Consortium booths will be organised, where the latest achievements in research projects will be presented, such as: PIONIER LAB, MOSAIC, DARIAH LAB, NEBI, PRACE LAB, EUROHPC PL, PL 5G, KMD. Additionally, numerous demonstrations will be prepared, including:

  • PosEmo and eduMEET projects – a case study of supporting non-verbal communication in the world of webconferencing,
  • Time and frequency in PIONIER network,
  • Development of time and frequency dissemination systems in PSNC,
  • Quantumblockchain Demo,
  • Possibilities of using AI/ML system to monitor the physical QKD links in the operational network. As an example, the presented system uses data from operational QKD links in the PIONIER network on the Poznan-Warsaw route.
