Gala of the “Intelligent Agriculture” competition for students of departmental agricultural schools

On June 21, 2022 in the seat of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development the gala of the “Intelligent Agriculture” competition organized for students of departmental agricultural schools was held. The event began with speeches by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Intel Corporation and Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center. Among the speakers were: Henryk Kowalczyk – Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Bartosz Ciepluch – President of Intel Poland and Tomasz Piontek – Director of Applications Division at Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center.

The “Intelligent Agriculture” competition was the culmination of the AI for Future Workforce pilot programme to which PSNC, Intel and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development invited teachers and students of agricultural schools. With the skills gained, the students developed original projects and solutions for the agricultural sector based on artificial intelligence algorithms. Five best projects were selected from the submitted works and presented during the gala. Here is the list of award winners:

  •  authors of the project Food Halls of the Future from the Zesłancow Sybiru Complex of Agricultural Training Schools in Bobwicko – Bartłomiej Sym, Jakub Fryder and Dawid Biernacki; supervisor: Łukasz Krawczyk;
  • the authors of the project Using Artificial Intelligence in Organic Fertilisation from the Secondary Agricultural Training Center in Powiercie – Kacper Pietruszka, Adam Majchrzak and Szymon Furmański; tutor: Anna Zawadzka;
  • the authors of the project Optimal Irrigation from the Complex of Schools of the Agricultural Training Centre in Powiercie – Łukasz Komorek, Łukasz Szymczak and Łukasz Opas; tutor: Anna Zawadzka;
  • the authors of the project Selection of selected crops to the environmental conditions from the Complex of Schools of the Agricultural Training Center in Sokolow Podlaski – Milena Krzymowska, Kamila Tobota and Maja Szot; supervisor: Dorota Imielinska.
  • the authors of the project Changing the content of elements in the soil over the years from the mjr pil. Władysław Szczesniewski Complex of Schools of the Agricultural Training Center in Widzew – Marcel Tomaszewski and Mateusz Klat; tutors: Piotr Bajo and Przemysław Kabza.
