In the March issue of the monthly “Poznański prestiż”, we recommend an interview with Maria Marcinkiewicz-Górna – playwright, radio drama director, co-creator of the Auditory Festival. The latter was technologically supported by PSNC last year. The artist reveals the details of cooperation with the Center in Poznan and discusses plans for the future.

Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center has signed an agreement with the consulting company Deloite in the field of research and development in the area of ​​Industry 4.0 and Innovation 4.0 based on the SAP S/4HANA technology.

In the latest issue of “Nature” – one of the oldest and most popular scientific journals in the world, an article was published on the cooperation of PSNC and the use of the computing power of the “Eagle” supercomputer in the VECMA project. Bartosz Bosak from the PSNC Large Scale Applications and Services Department was responsible for carrying out the research and preparing the publication. Piotr Kopta and Tomasz Piontek also contributed significantly to this publication.

8K Live Streaming over the Internet Showcased by a Group of Industry Leaders. In a significant milestone for the adoption of 8K, Intel, NHK Technologies, PSNC, Spin Digital, and Globo collaborate to deliver a live 8K program to multiple locations worldwide.

After the success of last year’s CLAW (Crisis Management Workshop), organized for the NREN community (National Research and Education Network) at PSNC headquarters, this year’s edition was held online. The coronavirus pandemic did not allow to organize the meeting in the capital of Wielkpolska Region once again, but this exceptional situation did not prevent the development and organization of the next interactive crisis management classes.

This year’s edition of the Researchers’ Night, which is a very popular event among the children and adults in Poznan, will be held entirely on-line. On November 27, the organizers invite the participants to a virtual studio to a “live” broadcast, and viewers will have access to 8 thematic channels. Damian Niemir (PSNC) talks about this unique event on Radio TOK FM.

The second episode of the ITM_talks online discussion, organized by the MTP Group, was devoted to the autonomy of robots and the digital transformation of the industry. The panel was attended by dr Krzysztof Kurowski – Technical Director of PSNC.

In the weekly “Polityka” you can read an article about technologies that help to monitor apiaries. The author mentions the EU project DEMETER, which is to promote the use of IoT sensors in agriculture. PSNC is the partner of this project.

On the “Cultural Base” (polish: “Kultura u Podstaw”) portal of the Culture Department of the Marshal’s Office in the Wielkopolska Region we can read an interview with Jan Skorupa from PSNC’s New Media Department. The interview discusses, among others, the issues of development works conducted at PSNC within the CBPIO and FutureLabs projects.

The opening session of this year’s TNC conference was scheduled for today, 8 June 2020. As in previous years, PSNC was supposed to act as a technological partner. Unfortunately, the organizers, due to the persisting coronavirus epidemic, decided to postpone the conference for a year.

Immersive media change the perception of cinema. Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, cinemas around the world remain closed. David Davies in his article on the IBC365 portal is trying to answer the question: which technologies can encourage viewers in the future to return to this form of entertainment? One of the responders is Maciej Głowiak – Head of PSNC New Media Department.
