Bio-IT World is the world’s most prestigious event showcasing technologies supporting precision medicine. During this year’s edition, hosted in London (November 29-30, 2023), leading experts from academia, government, biopharmaceuticals and industry shared their research results. The conference was attended by the Director of PSNC – dr Cezary Mazurek.

The kick-off meeting (November 28-30, 2023) of the second edition of the Superheroes 4 Science project was held in Bratislava. The projest’s aim is to popularize issues related to HPC (High-performance computing) among young people. The event was attended by representatives of three institutions representing the Visegrad Group countries, including representatives of PSNC.

On November 22 and 23, 2023, a PRACE-LAB2 project training for HPC users was held at the PSNC headquarters. Intel specialists provided knowledge on the capabilities of new tools supporting hybrid processing in systems equipped with hardware accelerators. The workshop was led by Stephen Blair-Chappell – an independent consultant and certified Intel oneAPI instructor.

The first meeting as part of the EDIH HPC4Poland project took place in the PSNC Future Labs spaces on November 9, 2023. The consortium met to refine operational and business processes. PSNC, the project leader, was represented by Cezary Mazurek, Ph.D. Dr Adam Olszewski Ph.D., Tomasz Konopka, Jakub Kamza, Anna Bednarska and Wojciech Witczak.

One of the largest Polish scientific events related to biomedical engineering returns to Poznan. We are talking about the 5th edition of the Biomedical Engineering Conference, which will take place at Poznan University of Technology on October 26-27, 2023. The event is held under the honorary patronage of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center.

“Quantum-ready, future-ready” – this was the slogan of this year’s European Quantum Technology Conference (EQTC) held in Hannover. The event, held every two years, is an opportunity to bring together the European community developing and implementing quantum technologies – quantum computing, quantum communications and quantum metrology. It is an opportunity to meet both the scientific community and companies that commercialise and implement solutions based on quantum technologies.

Nearly 100 exhibitors, almost 2,000 visitors and over 50 speakers – these are the numbers of this year’s fourth edition of Smart City Expo Poland held in Łódź on October 18-19, 2023. PSNC’s exhibition booth will showcase projects implemented by the Internet of Things Technologies department, the Smart Kampus laboratory within the PIONIER-LAB project and other projects implemented around IoT and mobile applications.

On October 18 and 19, 2023, the final conference of the DARIAH-PL project will be held at the PSNC headquarters. The event will be an opportunity to summarise the three-year project implementation and to present its results. Participants will learn about the solutions and resources developed in various areas of the humanities and arts sciences, as well as the Dariah.lab infrastructure integrating these solutions.

The ISSET International Symposium is organised every two years by the Polish Section of the Audio Engineering Society togetherwith Polish Radio S.A., the Warsaw University of Technology and Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. This unique event brings together many professionals, music school graduates, enthusiasts and educators. This year’s edition of the Symposium (October 12-14, 2023) was attended by representatives of the PSNC, presenting their original ambisonic installation.

Speeches, workshops and talks, as well as numerous presentations were prepared as part of this year’s edition of the Europeana Tech Conference, which was hosted in Hague from 10 to 12 October. The event featured, among others: DACE (Data Aggregation and proCessing Engine) application developed and maintained by the Department of Digital Libraries and Knowledge Platforms of the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center.

Students from schools across the country took part in the second edition of the National IT Championship, which was hosted at the Poznań International Fair from October 6 to 8, 2023. One of the partners of the event, organised by the V8 Team as part of Poznań Game Arena, was the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center.

Is the future ready for quantum solutions? This is one of the questions posed to participants by the organisers of the second edition of the Quantum World Congress, which was hosted for three days (September 26-28, 2023) in Tysons, Virginia. The event, bringing together representatives of science, business and investors from around the world, was attended by the Director of PSNC Dr Cezary Mazurek.
