Final gala of the ‘AI4Youth Artificial Intelligence’ competition

On November 3, 2022, the final gala ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology to summarize the ‘AI4Youth Artificial Intelligence’ competition, aimed at students of public secondary schools and vocational technical schools participating in the ‘AI4Youth’ pilot project. The programme is a unique educational journey, covering 4 stages and allowing young people to gain knowledge and practical skills to create their own project using Artificial Intelligence.

The project is a pilot educational project carried out by the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center together with the Software Development Academy for the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology. It is a proprietary global programme by Intel to increase digital awareness, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence, and to promote the competencies of the future among young people.

AI4Youth is aimed at students and teachers of public secondary schools and vocational technical schools and is designed to increase knowledge as well as skills, not only technological but also social.

The main objective of the Competition was:

  • to promote the programming skills and knowledge about artificial intelligence, to develop and test solutions to shape competences in artificial intelligence (AI) among secondary school students,
  • to build key digital competences involving the sphere of abstract thinking among students,
  • to promote AI-based entrepreneurship at schools,
  • to build high motivation among young people to search for innovative ideas, create new solutions and implement them.

The aim of the Competition, on the other hand, was the development and implementation of projects based on artificial intelligence algorithms, in line with the themes and ideas of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The training programme was developed by AI experts and educators, including employees from the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center.
