IBCH PAS PSNC awarded with Crystal Brussels Prize 2020

During the virtual gala, the National Contact Point for EU Research Programmes presented the prizes for the most active Polish participants in the Horizon 2020 Framework Program (2014-2020). The Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences together with the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center were awarded for the fifth time in the history.

Crystal Brussels is an award granted to Polish scientific, business and administrative entities since 2001. In this way, the successes in the EU Research and Innovation Framework Programs are distinguished. These projects aim to strengthen scientific excellence and increase the economic competitiveness of the European Union. The prize is much appreciated by scientists and entrepreneurs for their innovation and contribution to the development of Polish science and economy. This year, the award gala was held entirely online due to the coronavirus pandemic.

IBCH PAS PSNC was awarded in the category of Science – Scientific Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The jury of the competition emphasized the leading participation of the IBCH PAS PSNC in the Horizon 2020 Programme, in which the Center in Poznan implemented 76 projects, coordinating 4 of them.

This year’s award is already the fifth prize for IBCH PAS PSNC, previously the institution received awards in 2004, 2010, 2016 and 2018.

In its initial phase, the cooperation will feature the dissemination and promotion of information about cybersecurity and the security of ICT systems among entrepreneurs in Wielkopolska (Greater Poland) Voivodeship.

    The Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PCSS) and Wielkopolska Agency for Enterprise Development (WARP) signed a letter of intent regarding cooperation in the area of cybersecurity. In its initial phase, the cooperation will feature the dissemination and promotion of information about cybersecurity and the security of ICT systems among entrepreneurs in Wielkopolska (Greater Poland) Voivodeship.

    Thanks to the Dariah.lab infrastructure, the first pilot projects for the preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage resources have been implemented in 2023. Dariah.lab is a research infrastructure for the humanities and arts, built as part of the DARIAH-PL project. It serves to acquire, store and integrate cultural data from the humanities and social sciences, and to process, visualise and share digital resources.
