PIONIER network is looping
In November two investments in expansion of Polish Optical Internet PIONIER network – a nationwide broadband optical science network – were completed. In the south of the country the construction of new fiber optic line came to an end, and the north has been enriched by a new optical transmission system.
On November 4 installation of a new DWDM ADVA Optical Networking optical transmission system ended, on PIONIER’s own fiber optic line in relastion Olsztyn – Suwalki. Currently there are two optical channels with a speed of 10 Gbit / s in this section.

Less than a week later, on November 10, a 123.6 km long fiber-optic line between Tarnów and Kraków was finished too. This investment has finally allowed to close the south-eastern loop of PIONIER network.
