Quantum Computing ’22 Report

Quantum Computing ’22 Report

We invite you to learn about the results of the Polish IBM Quantum Innovation Center within the framework of the first stage of activity in 2022. The document is the result of cooperation between many scientific and research teams in Poland and was created on the basis of the analytical, programming and experimental tasks performed with access to the resource infrastructure of IBM Quantum computers.

Based on the experience gathered, the report presents the current state of development of IBM Quantum programmable gate quantum computers against the background of many challenges, and, at the same time, possible applications of quantum technology in simulations and computations. It should be noted that the report is a form of summary and does not exhaust the subject matter or the issues undertaken by Polish scientific users, but tries to bring closer and indicate the numerous research and development issues addressed in detail by national expert teams.

It was assumed that the summary of the first stage of tasks should also naturally introduce the reader to the world of quantum technology by explaining the physical basis of quantum computers. Efforts have been made to organize the most important issues on the border of computer science and physics chronologically and thematically in order to reach a wider range of readers. As a result, the report has been divided divided into three complementary Chapters.
