Supercomputing Frontiers Europe 2021 – 7th edition of the international conference

The 7th edition of the Supercomputing Frontiers Europe 2021 international conference focused on HPC (High Performance Computing) took place on 19 – 23 July 2021. During five days of the conference, participants had the opportunity to listen to presentations and lectures by world-renowned scientists, entrepreneurs and specialists in HPC, AI and quantum computing within 15 thematic blocks.

During this important event, Maciej Brzeźniak, Manager of the Data Management Technologies Department, presented the assumptions of a new project – the National Data Warehouse (in polish: KMD project). Topics of the presentation included the architecture of data processing and storage, the use of DATA LAKE technology and the role of the project in data-driven sciences with the indication of the most important examples of research problems where the KMD project will be applied. The publication by Maciej Brzeźniak and Norbert Meyer, presenting development work in the area of ​​KMD – services in the data cloud, edge processing and analytics of large amounts of data with the use of AI, was also submitted to the conference programme.

What is more, Bartosz Bosak, Piotr Kopta, Tomasz Piontek and Wojciech Szeliga from PSNC conducted a workshop entitled: Overcome limitations of scheduling systems with QCG-PilotJob, introducing the principles and practical use of QCG-PilotJob.
