The EUHubs4Data (The European federation of Data Driven Innovation Hubs) project has launched its third – and final – Open Call, targeting SMEs, startups and online entrepreneurs. The call for applications will run until 9 November 2022.

Collaboration between Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center and the ENEA Group will focus on using innovative digital technologies in the electric power industry. The R&D center and the power industry company have signed a letter of intent to define the nature and direction of activities related to using digital technologies in the electric power industry. Joint projects of ENEA and PSNC will mainly concern research and development works as well as innovative products and services to be offered to ENEA’s customers.

The Minister of Education and Science has decided on the categorization of national scientific entities. In accordance with the current rules, scientific categories (A+, A, B+, B or C) were granted separately for each discipline concerning the evaluated units. The Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS has been categorized in three disciplines; in the biological sciences, the Institute was awarded the A+ category, while in the chemical sciences and in technical IT and telecommunications, the A category was obtained.

The EOSC DIH has launched the 2nd Expression of Interest (EoI) for Business Pilots. The goal is to onboard businesses developing innovative solutions and – with EOSC technologies and services – help them bring products and services to market. The deadline for submitting offers is June 24, 2022.

Within the NLPQT project – National Laboratory for Photonics and Quantum Technologies – a transmission link of Quantum Key Distribution technology between Poznan and Warsaw was launched. QKD transmission system uses dedicated fibres of PIONIER network with total length of 380 km.

The main objectives of the agreement for the construction and development of the Autonomous Technology Poligons is to support the development of unmanned systems technology in Poland and to stimulate scientific and research cooperation, as well as business collaboration, by providing specialized, previously unavailable test infrastructure. PSNC Director – Cezary Mazurek, Ph.D., signed a letter of intent on joint activities in this field.

The meeting of the PRACE Steering Committee (7-8.06.2022) summarised the activities of the second phase of PRACE 2.0 completed with the process of sharing Tier-0 and Tier-1 resources. PRACE is an international consortium responsible for building HPC infrastructure in Europe and scientific collaboration with the use of advanced computing.
