During the Ars Electronica 2019 Festival (Linz, Austria), a network streaming show from Poznan, implemented by PSNC, was sent to Deep Space 8K in Linz. In the “Around Art” cycle, we’ll take a closer look at one of the first live 8K implementations of this kind in the world.

The project, submitted by the cooperation of the “an_ARCHE New Music Foundation”, the Telematics Laboratory of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan and PSNC, was among 1200 beneficiaries for cultural activities online as part of the “Culture on the Web” program, organized by the National Center for Culture.

Scientists from the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznan developed the first Polish test detecting the presence of SARS-CoV-2. Recently, the Institute organized a press conference in the PSNC tv studio regarding the test and issues related to its production. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the PIONIER.TV team prepared several episodes of the popular scientific series entitled: “Hot Science”.

After the long weekend in May, the second stage of lifting restrictions related to the coronavirus epidemic began in Poland. There is also an opportunity to handle matters personally at the Poznan City Hall. Therefore, the electronic system for booking visits has been restarted. PSNC prepared a new version of the service.

Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center together with the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences is starting a cooperation with the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) as a national node in the field of data on SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

PSNC IoT department joined the action “3D visors for Poznan hospitals”, organized by a firefighter from Poznan, (Jezyce district) Bartosz Urbanski. So far, thanks to a joint action of many companies, institutions and volunteers – 767 visors have been delivered to Poznań hospitals.

The covid-monitor.org website was launched in cooperation with PSNC, together with the team of prof. Przemysław Guzik from the Poznan Univeristy of Medical Sciences and a group of programming specialists from CodeLab from the team of dr Sebastian Żurek. The main purpose of the service is to help you assess your own health during the SARS-CoV-2 virus outbreak (coronavirus).

One of the dangers brought by the coronavirus (SARS- Cov-2) is the potential overload of our healthcare system. To help avoid that, medVC.eu offers the video-room service for all hospitals. PSNC and the Polish Federation of Hospitals are partners of the project.

Current world events influence the shape and way of thinking about education as never before. We are forced to abandon traditional forms of teaching in schools, but the dynamic development of new technologies including digital media can be very helpful. One of PSNC’s proposals within the framework of digital education is the PIONIER Research & Classroom project, which offers specialized educational services in the form of a coherent platform – an educational hub.

eduMEET is an interactive videoconferencing platform based on the WebRTC service, supporting remote communication and teaching processes. During the global coronavirus epidemic, an international team, coordinated by PSNC’s New Media Department, is working within the GÉANT community on the  COVID-19 beta version.
